A Review of the Liene Pixcut S1
This little print and cut sticker maker is fantastic!

Welcome to spring, everyone! Although winter felt short-lived here in North Texas, it was long enough for me. I’m happy to be moving onto warmer weather and sun!
Ever since I purchased and received my Liene print and cut sticker maker earlier this year, I’ve been wanting to review it. It’s an pricey little thing, but it does exactly what it promises! It can be used for both photos and stickers, although I use it exclusively for personal stickers.
I’ve had a bunch of sticker/photo printers in my lifetime. I started with portable photo and sticker printers like the Canon Ivy and the Fujifilm Instax. I then moved onto slightly bigger machines for photos and smaller devices for stickers.
The truth is, I love my Phomemo M02 Pro, which was the last sticker device I purchased. It’s a handy little sticker maker that is well priced. But it has 2 main drawbacks:
It doesn’t print in color
It has a limited resolution, which leaves much to the imagination
I still use my Phomemo, but it’s mostly for non-photo images. I use it for quick stickers to decorate my pocket and passport-sized notebook covers. It works really well for that purpose.
I searched high and low for a color sticker printer that worked like the Phomemo. I wanted it to be inkless, with an easy-to-use smartphone app, but in color and with a higher resolution and thin paper. While the Canon Ivy and other models like it do something similar, I can’t stand the sticker paper they use. It’s way too thick. That annoyance led me to the Phomemo, which has a perfect paper thickness. Essentially, I wanted to find a color version of the Phomemo.
Last year, the Liene debuted on a crowdfunding site. Liene has an excellent history in the printer space, so their reputation was already good.
Due to my low spend planner year in 2024, I had to wait to buy it. I was concerned about missing the early adopter bundle and price, but then realized at the start of 2025 that it wasn’t more expensive. Win!
I received it within 3 weeks of ordering. Second win!
The first thing I have to tell you is this is not a small machine. Its footprint takes up ~2 feet when open and in use. And yes, you do need that amount of space during printing to ensure the paper has room to move in and out of the machine. It’s less than 1 foot long when shut up and stored.
Here it is compared to some of my portable sticker/photo devices - they are laying on top of the Liene!
The way this printer works is simple. It uses an ink cartridge, similiar to other portable photo printers. This requires 4 passes per photo/sticker sheet in order to lay down the different layers of colors and seal them.
The ink cartridge will last you 36 sheets. Depending on which package you purchase from Liene, you should receive 1 ink cartridge and 36 sheets (usually mixed photo and sticker sheets). You can purchase additional packs for ~$23 each. There is also a blade used for cutting the stickers, but replacements have not been available for purchase yet. If they’re of the same quality as my Cameo blades, one blade with regular use will last ~1 year. I expect to use this far less than my Cameo, however.
The resultant stickers are glossy and, as shown above, waterproof and, well, life proof. They’re also thinner than all the other color sticker printers that I have, plus this nifty machine both prints and cuts the stickers.
What drew me to this device was the combined functionality of having one machine both print and cut the stickers. It uses AI to figure out how to cut around the stickers, drawing a border of your designated size. So far, I’m impressed with its abilities.
The smartphone app is intuitive. Once I figured out how to connect to my new Liene machine, I was able to figure out how to add images from their library (or my own) and print and cut. While their app isn’t perfect and there are some nitpicks, I’m pretty happy with it.
There is some waste which drives me a little crazy. The sheets are sized 4”x7”, yet you can’t use all the space. You also need to place independent images far enough apart so their cuts will not merge and turn into one gigantic cut.
I do like the built-in library. The stickers I print and cut above came from this library and I think some of the designs are super cute.
The biggest consideration, however, is the price tag. With current discounts, it’s the same price as a brand new Cameo 5. That’s not lost on me. However, it both prints and cuts. It also figures out the cut lines for me, which saves me time. I could do all the same things on a Cameo, but it would take a minimum of an hour to perform similar steps and I’d have to use two machines.
How do I use my Liene? My primary usage is book cover stickers for my reading journal. I don’t plan to use it for the stickers in my Etsy shop at this time.
It’s so nifty that I end up printing random photos from my life and incorporating them into my journals. As shown below, I loved using this device to backdate one of the multi-year journals that I ended up closing this year.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

Reading
This month I finished Throne of Glass and have moved onto the second book in the series, Crown of Midnight. So far it’s OK. I like Maas’ ACOTAR series better.
But the book I liked the most this month (so far) is Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center. It’s a very cute romcom with a small age gap, forced proximity, and lots of life lessons and emotions. I saw the movie on Netflix a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. As usual, the book is better. :D
Watching
Have you heard of Tubi? Since Hubby and I decided to take a break from paid streaming services, we’ve been rewatching old movies on Tubi. Tubi is a free streaming service that has tons of movies, TV series, and even “live T.V.” They are able to run free because they use ads. The ads aren’t bad, maybe 3-10 minutes total for an entire 2-hour movie.
There are some awesome movies from the 90s and the 2000’s on Tubi right now. It’s been fun going back and reliving some of the greatest hits!
Next month at this time spring will be in full swing! Can’t wait to spend afternoons on my back patio, soaking up the warmer weather, and planning and journaling.
Talk to you in April!
